The Council for American Private Education joins U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona in recognizing 40 exemplary non-public schools among the 356 schools honored as 2024 National Blue Ribbon Schools. These 40 schools were nominated by CAPE for being among their state’s highest performing schools based on overall academic performance, as measured by nationally normed assessments, or as demonstrated by exemplary success in closing the achievement gap.
“The National Blue Ribbon Schools Award is a testament to the exceptional achievements of students and educators at each of these schools,” said U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona. While schools are recognized for their overall student performance, nominated schools also complete an extensive application describing their school culture and philosophy, curriculum, assessments, instructional practices, professional development, leadership structures, and parent and community involvement.
The National Blue Ribbon School Award awards schools in one of two performance categories:
• Exemplary High-Performing Schools are among their state’s highest performing schools as measured by state assessments or nationally normed tests.
• Exemplary Achievement Gap-Closing Schools are among their state’s highest performing schools in closing achievement gaps between a school’s student groups and all students.
